PCM, TCM communication system

DETECTION CONDITION

  • The shift position signal from the PCM or TCM is not within specification.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

  • An abnormal signal is sent from the PCM and/or TCM.


Diagnostic procedure

INSPECTION

INSPECT FOR PCM MALFUNCTION
  • Turn the ignition switch off.

  • Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the PCM and TCM.

  • Are any DTCs detected?

Yes

Go to applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [SJ6A-EL].)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

If the malfunction recurs, replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.

(See DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
  • Is any other DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS[DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].)

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
